Vida de Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson nació en Gary, Indiana, el 29 de agosto de 1959. Fue el séptimo de nueve hermanos. Sus padres se llaman Joseph y Katherine. Su padre fue miembro del grupo de música "The Falcons", y tocó como guitarrista. A su madre también le apasionaba la música, y solía tocar canciones country junto con sus hermanas. De esta manera, Michael y sus hermanos, muy influenciados por sus padres, fueron aficionados a la música desde muy pequeños.
Ya en 1963 Michael demostró sus condiciones especiales para la música, y cantó un tema de la serie "Sonrisas y lágrimas". De esta manera, los hermanos Jackson se unieron para formar "Jackson Five", y su padre, que conocía perfectamente el potencial de sus hijos, dejó su trabajo para ser su representante. Muy pronto, en 1970, se convirtieron en uno de los grupos más vendedores, con éxitos como "I want you back".
Como solista, Michael grabó en 1972 el disco "Got to be there". Por aquel entonces, sólo contaba con trece años, pero su primer disco fue todo un éxito, al igual que su segundo album, "Ben".
En 1974 grabó "Music and me", y un año después "Forever". La popularidad de Michael habia declinado un poco, así que decidió regresar con sus hermanos para sacar de nuevo a flote al grupo, que en ese entonces comenzó a llamarse "The Jacksons" y recuperaron la popularidad perdida con nuevos temas compuestos por ellos.
Michael consiguió realizar en 1979 uno de sus sueños, que era el de participar en el cine. Lo hizo como espantapájaros en la película "Mago de Oz", en la cual conoció a Quincy Jones, quien más tarde se convertiria en una pieza clave para su salto hacia el éxito.
En 1979 Michael volvió como solista grabando "Off the wall", un trabajo producido por Jones. Tuvo 4 hits del Top 10. Con el tema "Dont´t stop´til you get enought" ganó su primer Grammy, y vendió más discos que con cualquiera de sus anteriores trabajos.
Pero el punto en que su carrera pasa de ser buena, a convertirse en uno de los mitos de la música pop y de la música en general fue en 1982, con su álbum "Thriller". Es difícil explicar el éxito tan rotundo que obtuvo, pero los números son elocuentes: esta placa vendió mas de 100 millones de copias, transformándose en el disco más vendido de todos los tiempos, éxito que hoy en dia aún perdura, y sigue en aumento. Fue número 1 en todos los países, obtuvo 12 nominaciones a los premios Grammy, consiguiendo 8 premios. Los 7 singles realizados alcanzaron todos ellos el Top 10 de las lista norteamericanas, llegando a ser, dos de ellos, números 1. En cuanto a las canciones, se pueden encontrar "The girl is mine", donde realiza un fantástico dueto con Paul McCartney, "Beat it", con un espectacular sólo de guitarra a cargo de Eddie Van Halen, o "Billie Jane", un tema que se grabó a la primera toma. El éxito se debió en buena parte al videoclip extraído del single Thriller, un cortometraje de John Landis, de más de 13 minutos de duración en el cual Michael Jackson se convierte en hombre lobo y más tarde en zombie.
En 1984 grabó su último disco con sus hermanos, "Victory", realizando una gira. También grabó con McCartney el tema "Say, say, say", y la canción "We are de World", con fines benéficos. Michael Jackson se transformó en uno de los artistas que más fondos donó para fines benéficos.
En 1987 grabó "Bad" y realizó una gira mundial. Con éste disco ha vendido unos 20 millones de copias, y consiguió un Grammy por el tema "Leave me alone".
En 1991 editó "Dangerous", que contenía temas tan importantes como "Black or white", "Remember the time" o "In the closet", y siguió con su segunda gira mundial en 1992, que no terminó hasta un año después.
En 1993 su imagen sufrió un duro golpe, al recibir las acusaciones de abuso infantil por parte de un conocido menor de edad, pero Jackson negó rotundamente la acusación, y el asunto se resolvió fuera de la Corte. Poco después, en 1995 sacó a la luz History, un doble álbum en el cual podían encontrarse en el primer disco sus grandes éxitos, y temas nuevos en el segundo. Por último, en 1997 realizó "Blood on the dance floor", un disco que no ha hecho demasiado ruido.
Su primer disco en el siglo XXI se llama “Invincible”, que coincide con el 30 aniversario de su carrera en solitario. En setiembre del 2001 reunió a sus hermanos en un concierto en Nueva York, y volvió al cine siendo el protagonista de la película “Las pesadillas de Edgar Allan Poe”.
Jackson cuenta entre sus amigos más cercanos a Elizabeth Taylor y Macaulay Culkin y ha estado ligado sentimentalmente con Tatum O'Neal, Brooke Shields y Lisa Marie Presley (hija de Elvis Presley). Todas estas personalidades comparten con Jackson la particularidad de haber conocido la popularidad a muy corta edad, lo que según ellos mismos ha contribuido a formar una relación particular.
Michael Jackson logró muchos récords durante su carrera, entre los que destaca el haber sido el artista musical más exitoso de todos los tiempos de acuerdo al Libro Guinness de récords mundiales, al vender 750 millones de discos. También fue reconocido como uno de los artistas más innovadores en el campo del vídeo clip, habiendo recibido numerosos premios por la calidad de sus trabajos visuales, argumentativos, estilísticos, tecnológicos y de coreografía.
En 1995, Michael Jackson se casó con Lisa Marie Presley, la hija de Elvis Presley. En el 2001, contrajo matrimonio con la enfermera Deborah Rowe, madre de dos de sus hijos, Prince Michael Jackson I (en 1997) y Paris Michael Katherine Jackson.
El cantante tuvo un tercer hijo, Prince Michael II, que fue, según sus propias palabras, engendrado a partir de su esperma en una madre de alquiler.
La vida privada de Jackson ha sido centro permanente de la prensa en las últimas décadas debido a sus preferencias personales, sus extravagantes gastos y gustos, sus cirugías estéticas y su cambio de color de piel , debido a una enfermedad cutánea llamada vitiligo.
En las varias ocasiones se ha visto implicado en pleitos judiciales, la mayoría de ellos de carácter profesional. El mas recordado es el juicio en el que se le acusó de haber abusado sexualmente de un menor de 14 años, y del que fue declarado inocente de todos los cargos el 13 de junio de 2005. En marzo de 2006 las autoridades ordenaron el cierre de su rancho Neverland debido a atrasos en el pago de salarios por problemas burocráticos ya solucionados.
En febrero de 2008 editó una edición especial de su albúm mas exitoso. "Michael Jackson 25th Anniversary of Thriller" que incluye colaboraciones de exitosos artistas y productores del momento, como son Akon, Kanye West, Will I Am y Fergie de los Black Eyed Peas.
Esta edición contiene las canciones originales del álbum "Thriller" así como cinco nuevas canciones, entre ellas se destaca "For All Time" y remezclas de los temas "Billie Jean", "Wanna Be Startin Something" y "The Girls Is Mine".
En honor a su cumpleaños número cincuenta, el 29 de agosto de 2008, Jackson publicó su álbum recopilatorio titulado King of pop, que contiene tanto las canciones de Jackson como solista y las de su etapa en The Jackson Five y The Jacksons, pero a diferencia de los anteriores, las canciones del álbum fueron elegidas por los fans, a través de una votación.
El 5 de marzo de 2009 en un auditorio en Londres ante veintemil fans, anunció su regreso a los escenarios, con la gira This Is It, con diez conciertos a celebrarse en dicha ciudad en el O2 Arena en el mes de julio. En ellos, habría nuevos sencillos del "rey del pop". La expectativa aumentó la demanda del público y se pretendían hacer hasta cincuenta presentaciones. Sin saberlo, aquel anuncio sería su última presentación ante los medios.
En la mañana del 25 de junio de 2009, Jackson sufrió un paro cardiorrespiratorio en su mansión en Holmby Hills. Los paramédicos lo encontraron sin pulso ni respiración, por lo que le aplicaron reanimación cardiopulmonar y lo trasladaron al Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, ubicado en Los Ángeles. A pesar de los esfuerzos de los médicos, falleció luego de encontrarse en estado de coma profundo.
Cientos de personas se congregaron fuera del hospital al difundirse la noticia de su muerte, y millones de fans alrededor del mundo lloraron su deceso. Los planes de un nuevo disco en el 2009, y Gira en O2 Arena en Londres desde el 13 de julio del 2009 hasta el 6 de marzo del 2010, sólo quedaron escritos.
